Forrester/Forester french family
Posted by: FORESTER Marc (ID *****8108) Date: August 24, 2007 at 09:22:30
  of 1517

I am looking for informations about my ancestor WILLIAM FORRESTER, born in 1792 or 1796 somewhere in England or Scotland. He was a corporal of the English Royal Engineers when the North of France was occupied by the allied troups.
He stayed in France until 1818 and married (?) Ursule Sophie Bastin (born in Raismes, France). They had a boy called William Joseph, born on 20th october 1817. They went back to England and had a second child, Annette, born in England on december 1819. The family went back to France in february 1919 and lived in Raismes.
Other children born in Raismes : Virginie, 20th of october of 1820 and Christofer Joseph, 22nd september of 1822.
The registry officer wrote his name with an error, that is why the name of our family became FORESTER.
William disappeared in 1838 (we don't know where), after his wife died on 31st december of 1837. Nobody knows where he was born and his genealogy. May be you have some informations about William FORRESTER
Thank you for your help.
Marc FORESTER, living in Paris (France)
