Just returned from the wedding and did gather information from my mom. I never knew my grandfather had more than one sibling but when I showed my mom your last e-mail she said the following. "Yes, that's my aunt Margaret, my father and my uncle Raymond but they don't show my aunt Catherine." I only realy met my great-aunt Catherine as Raymand had moved to NY and Margaret died young. Sad to say my g-father died at 66 and was thought old by family standards. Apparently heart problems plagued the family.
Any way, Thomas was my g-grandfather and married Catherine Smith. As Newman (my grandfather) was born in 1901, the possibility that Michael was Thomas' father as well doesn't seem like a big strech. (My mom doesn't know what he father's order of birth was and Thomas either died before she can remember him or before her birth in 1931, she's not sure). She does remember he was a policeman in Central Falls and does remember the Hedley Street home ( is it on the corner of Summer St?) She would visit her g-mother there when she was young.
This is pretty interesting to me. I can give some names from her memory if you think we have a match. I personally believe that Michael Joseph (which is my husbands name) is a direct ancestor of both of us. By the way, are you still in RI? I live in California now but my family is all back in Conn, relatives are in RI.
Waiting for your reply.
