Confederate officer Forrest?

Did you have an Forrest ancestor who may have served in central Kentucky during the Civil War. I have an 1861 half dollar that was fashioned into an ID disk by a Confederate officer.
The coin has a hole for a string or chain and the inscription United State of America has been filed off. Under the eagle, CSA has been engraved and over the eagles head is engraved Lt. Willam M Forrest.
