This information was found in a cemetery in Harrison Co., TX by members of the Descendants of Confederate Veterans, Military Stars ans Bars, and the organization od descendants of the Mexican War. Markers have been ordered to honor these brave men and Reltives of General Nathan Bedford Forrest. We will have a cerwmony to honor them in the future. Randall Jones 2 Great Grandson of Orren Alston Beck brother of Miriam Beck Forrest Ennis, TX Elisha Green Forrest - Lived next to his mother and heir in her estate-settled in Harrison Co, Tx in 1846-owned 320 acres near Hallsville 4 miles from Walling's Ferry-farmers owning 10 slaves at the time of his death Elisha King Forrest – (son of Elisha G.K) - Buried Harrison Co., TX Major, Co. H, 7th Reg. TX Infantry (Texas Incredibles). Capt. W. B. Hill. Enlisted at Marshall, TX. MS. POW at Camp Douglas, ILL> Wounded 5/22/1863 at Richmond. Exchanged at Vicvksburg. MS Served in army under Forrest, prisoner of war Orren Perry Forrest – (son of Elisha G) - Came to Harrison Co., Tx in 1846 via Arkansas (c1844) Mexican War of 1846 under Capt E M Daggett's Co I, 1st Tex Regt of Mounted Volunteers, commander Col. Jack Hays enlisting 3/20/1847 ng in Austin, Tx (he was 17 years old)Ca CSA army, Enlisted 10/1/1861 at Marshall, TX. 1st LT, Co H {Texas Invincibles) if the 7th Regt, Tx Inf, Grandbury Brigade. Took over for Capt Hill when he was killed at Ft Donalson where Capt Orren was taken prisoner, later exchanged and wounded at battle of Raymond, Ms. Wifes pension number 41921 from Dallas Co.TX Richard O. Forrest – (son od Elisha G) - Mexican War of 1846, CO c 2nd Texas Mounted Volunteers, Capt. Wilder's Co., Col. Woods Regt. and also in Thomas W. Clark's Co., Col. John Hays Regt. c1847. CSA - Pvt., 7th Reg. TX Infantry (Texas Invincibles). Enlisted at Marahall, TX 1/15/1863 by O. P Forrest (his brother). Wounded at Raymondville, MS. Lived in Harrison Co, but moved to Coryell Co. Calvin J. Forrest – (son of Elisha G) - CSA Co. H 1st Battalion, Engineer Troops and laterin the Infantry. Helen Forrest – (wife of Calvin J) - Notify Administrator about this message?
