I picked up on the above name while searching through old posts. Elisha Bland (my ancestor, b. 1775 in VA) lived in Edgefield Co., SC before coming to Georgia. Bland is not an extremely common name so I wonder if there is a connection between the Forrest and Bland families in Edgefield, maybe family or friends. Could Elisha Bland Forrest have been named for Elisha Bland? I don't think "Bland" as a middle name would have been just picked out of the air. There had to be a reason he was given this name. Thanks in advance.
