Is Orian Forrest related to Nathan Beford Forrest?

Hi,

My name is Nora and I am trying to find some information for my boyfriend? Recently I have been tracing my own family history and have found several participants in the civil war. My boyfriend is a big civil war buff and would love to trace some of his family to some civil war participants. His mother's maiden name was Forrest and I was wondering if they may have been related somehow to Nathan Bedford Forrest? What I have so far is his grandmother Pocahantas Frances Forrest (born Oct. 7, 1922) who married Arthur Thomas Mahone(born in 1911)or it could have been Thomas Arthur Mahone? Pocahantas's parents were Orian Forrest (born Oct 24, 1895) married to Minnie Sarah Deans but I seem to come to a dead end with Orian? I don't know if any of Nathan Bedford Forrest's descendants or descendants of his sibling may have ended up in NC where Orian was born but Orian lived here in VA with Pocahantas? His grandfather Arthur Mahone who married Pocahantas was a Mahone, so their may be a possibility of him being related to William Mahone from the civil war as well but I have not been able to find Arthur's father yet? If anyone is a part of this family or could shed some light on it, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

P.S. You can contact me directly at wheely5@hotmail.com
