Edward, I doubt that your grandfather deliberately died or misled you, he simply repeated what had been told him. My own husband was told the same thing and believed it. No where did I say I had a letter from Mrs Bradley I TALKED to them and as great granddaughters I'm fairly certain they know who they descend from. Also, I did not say there were no living descendants, I said NO DIRECT MALE descendents. You place too much reliance on twins and even my own son named a son Nathan Scott Forrest because he admired the General. Does not mean kinship. Nathan Bedford had a twin sister Fanny who died quite young therefore never married. He married Mary Ann Montgomery and they only had two children, a son William and a daughter who died young and never married. Have all the DNA tests you can pay for and if your are related it will be what is called a collateral line. Notify Administrator about this message?
