Nathan Bedford Forrest - Descendants
Posted by: Maggie McAnaney (ID *****2124) Date: October 12, 2002 at 11:16:28

I am a direct descendant of Nathan Bedford Forrest. This is the General Forrest who was a Civil War hero and also the founder of the Ku Klux Klan. The Klan upon it's founding was a social mens club and not the racist organization that it is now. Nathan Bedford Forrest tried in vain to disband the organzation when it started to take it's violent racist form.

My Grandmother was Marie Forrest who married Richard Randall. She was from Virginia and they settled in Winona Minnesota. My Mother was named Jannette Forrest Randall.

I have no information about any relatives between Nathan Bedford Forrest and my Grandmother Marie Forrest. Anyone who can help please follow up here. Thanks, Maggie
