The information we have is that Mary Guthrie was the daughter of Henry and Penelope Johnson Guthrie who were according to the information of Scottish descent. Some Guthrie's in that area may have been Huguenots. Penelope's family were Quakers. Henry came from the Guthrie's of Middlesex Co. and were listed in a parish record there.
