From the Chatsworth Plaindealer

AUGUST 15, 1902

Mary Diltz was born in Franklin county, Ohio, February 14, 1825, and on July 17, 1844 was married to S.S. Foreman. They resided in Ohio until April, 1865, when they removed to the prairies of Illinois, settling on the Vermillion, a few miles north of Chatsworth. Many years were spent there and the family was widely known, their hospitality being often shared by friends and strangers.
On February 7, 1900, death called the husband, and since that time Mrs. Foreman has shared the home of her daughter, Mr. C.T. Ames, of Chatsworth, who has faithfully cared for her and given her the loving care of a dutiful daughter. Having had frail health for years, her friends were not surprised, yet grieved, when her last illness began in July. For four weeks she steadily failed, and at three a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 1902, her spirit quietly passed away.
Rev. Charles FitzHenry conducted a short service at the house at 9:30 this (Friday) morning, and the funral service was held in the little church near which she had lived. The remains were placed to rest in the Sullivan cemetery beside her husband. She leaves seven children who mourn a loving mother -- Mrs. Rebecca Hush, of McLoud, Oklahoma; Mrs. Anna Fiddock, of Abilene, Kansas; Mrs. Ellen Ames, of Chatsworth; Mason W. Foreman, of Charlotte; Guyn Forman, of Thawville; Arthur Forman, of Blairstown, Mo.; Mrs. Isabella Gum, of Fulton, California.
