Transcribed on June 21, 2006 from a short drive-thru:

Greenwood Cemetery just south of Clarksville, Missouri on Highway W. Cemetery is on the right and sits back off highway about 1/4 mile. (well maintained).
Directions: Go to Clarksville, MO on Highway 79 to southend of town and take Highway Route W. Just a little south of town.

Location: Calumet Twp - 391234N; 0905437W
Directions: Follow State Road W about a half mile southwest of Clarksville, the cemetery is on the right

Buried at South end of cemetery:

Susanna, wife of J.E. Forgey
born February 09, 1835
died October 20, 1890
(note: this is Susanna Glasscock (daughter of Harrod Glasscock & Edith Chamblin).

John E. Forgey
born October 15, 1827
died May 27, 1899

Eva Stark
born April 16, 1858
died April 24, 1935
(wife of John E. Forgey).

(all of the above on the same grey granite tower monument).
Wm. Stark Forgey b. 1892 d. 1945
(note: son of John E. Forgey and Eva Stark, John's 2nd wife)

other stones present near tower monument next to William above but are eligible.



Sarah J. Forgey
b. 1878 d. 1934
Mary V. Gilbirds
b. 1842 d. 1926

both on same monument
I believe the surname Gunn was also on the same monument.

Anna B., wife of A.J. Forgey
d. June 14, 1902 aged 48 years 2 months 2 days

Nancy Forgey
b. June 24, 1827 d. April 16, 1907
(this is Nancy Kissinger wife of William Andrew Forgey).
(there are other Kissingers buried in this cemetery also).
(William is John Edwin Forgey's brother).

(this is Samuel A. Forgey, Nancy & William's son)

Jas. W.F.
b. 3/03/1859
d. 9/15/1933
(this is James "Jimmie" W. Forgey, Nancy & William's son)


There appears to be another cemetery at Paynesville, Mo. south of Clarksville that I haven't visited. It is:

FORGEY Cemetery

Location: Calumet Twp - 52N 1R E Section 21
Directions: Behind the old Paynesville school.
