I am trying to trace my own family of Foresters in England. Although I live in central England the family originated in the North. My grandfather and great-grandfather were from Goole, N Yorkshire. They were both North Sea fisherman all their working lives.

My grandfather, John Shapley Forester was born in Goole in 1870 something. He died in 1956 in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire.

My father, Charles Forester, was born in 1923 in Cleethorpes. He is still alive.

There are a few Foresters still alive in Cleethorpes.

Kind regards

Bob Forester
