We are very likely talking about the same family. My connection is through the LEONARDS. Elizabeth (Whitlatch) LEONARD was my g-g-g-g-grandmother. Before she married Henry Jacobs she was married to William LEONARD. William died in about 1814, and Elizabeth married Henry Jacobs in about 1817. When Elizabeth married Henry she had four children, Nancy, John, William, and Lot. Lot died young and I don't know if it was before or after the second marriage. My ancestor is John. He was my g-g-g-grandfather. I would like to find out more about him. I decided to try looking for him through the Jacobs family, since he was raised by Henry JACOBS. John was only aobut 6 or 7 years old when his mother married into the JACOBS family. If you have any info to share I would very much appreciate hearing from you. I would be happy to share, although all my info is about the LEONARD family. I have connections to the FORDYCE family as well--John married Jane FORDYCE. I have not spent much time researching this line, but do have some info I would share. Contact me directly if you are interested.
