According to New England Marriages Prior to 1700, by Clarance Almon Torrey, "Robert Fordham (1603-1674) 1wf _?_ Stamford, CT/Hempstead, LI/Southampton, LI"
"Robert Fordham (1603-1674) 2/wf.Elizaeth (Benning) aft. 18 July 1641; Stam fort CT/Hempstead, LI/Southampton, LI
Then in the writings of S. Allyn Pect, B.A., M.S. titled:FORDHAM FAMILY AT FLAMSTEAD, pg 439, "The family of the Reverend Robert Fordham of Southampton LI has been the subject of a study in The American Genealogist (13:67) and appears in the Colonial Families of Long Island,New York, by the late Herbert F. Seversmith (2:971)....Robert Fordam had been curate, leave no doubt as to the nativity years of his children. His son Jonas was thus older at graduation from Harvard College than supposed by Mr. Jacobus and there was a daughter Hannah by his first wife, whose given name Alice is now established."
So there is documentation that Alice was first wife to Rev. Robert. Later in the posted deposition of his estate, as he left no actual will, any children living at the time of his death, from his first marriage, aren't given much at all-and son Joseph, by Elizabeth, and Elizabeth are executors of his estate. (As pr. Refugees Long Island to Connecticut, pg 343).
While I know this doesn't clear up Florance, it does straighten out information on Rev. Robert's two wives. At one time I saw something that said that Florence was his daughter, and I found in the books that it showed she was his sister.I need to dig again, to find it.Not meaning to add to the confusion, I've seen documentation that suggests John Carmen was also married to Jamacia Fordham, sister of Robert. I love a good puzzle.
