Hello. I read your letter posted April 23rd, 1999, in regards to the Forde's of Lanark County. I, too, am interested in a Forde family of Ramsey County having some similar christian names but I am sure a different family of Fordes. Maybe there is a tie in somewhere but to date I have not found it. Thomas Forde, my great grandfather, married Rose Jane Small in 1840. She died Oct 11, 1888. They had a son named Thomas Forde, born Feb 19, 1842 in Ireland that came to Canada in 1843 (Montreal). He married Ann Young of Almonte Twp on October 19, 1875 in Almonte township. I have no other info of my great grandfather or his children recorded. I do have a lot of more recent information. Do my dates and names fit into your tree? While researching for my tree, I bumped into another Forde tree which I believe does tie into your tree. I particularly recognize the William Forde, abt 1880 to abt 1850 and spouse Margaret, with children Charles, Samuel, James, William, Margaret, etc. Would you be kind enough to let me know if my Thomas Forde and spouse Rose Jane Small fits into your puzzle and secondly could you give me a little more information re your tree so that I could pass it on to the person that I believe is also looking into a Forde tree from Lanark County. She was ready to share her information with me but I did not get it as I did not think it fit into mine. I regret I turned it down, but I am sure that I can request the info again if you are interested. Fred
