There are lots of similar names in Cork, but I haven't found that one.

You could also look for the certificate of George's death in Ireland; the indexes to the Dublin General Record Office records of death have been filmed and are available through the LDS Family History centres. You could search the years you think he might have died and then send for any likely ones to the GRO in Dublin. They cost about 2 Euros each, so it isn't too expensive. If you can also order the marriages and births films, you might find more about the family. Civil Registration of all Birth, Marriages and Deaths began in 1864; Church of Ireland marriages from 1845.

You can find out where your nearest LDS Family History Centre is from their Family Search website. It may be that the big libraries in Australia also have the indexes - worth a try.
