I believe that your Fordes and my husband's might be related. I have in our tree a Cornelius Forde born 5 September 1873 in Bandon, Cork; the birth is in the Civil Registration records. His father was John FORDE and his mother was Mary BENNETT, and his siblings were Michael Forde b: 8 March 1867 in Bandon, Daniel Forde b: 4 November 1869 in Bandon, Mary Forde b: 20 August 1871 in Kilbrogan, County Cork. There may have been others that I don't know about.
Cornelius's father John Forde was born about 1817 near Dunmanway, nr. Bandon, and died on 17 January 1901 in Kilbrogan Hill, Bandon, Co. Cork, Ireland. His wife, Mary Bennett was born about 1832; they married in about 1866. She died on 4 September 1922 in Kilbrogan Hill, Bandon.
John Forde's father was *probably* (not yet proven) George Forde b 1788, wife's name unknown; they had 9 children, of whom John was the second. My husband is descended from John's older brother William. I have George Forde's ancestors back to the the 1600s, and lots more information. Do feel free to e-mail me off line.
