Jos was a 'prominent general merchant' in Onondaga in the 1870s. According to census information, he was born in Ireland, but was of Scottish descent. His wife Henrietta MALLAGH, was born in 1843 in Portadown, Ireland. Joseph suddenly disappears around 1882. He left 6 children: John Arthur, Joseph, Annie Jane, Henrietta, William and James.
