Russell-I, too, have hit many brick walls and at this point grabbing at straws. All I know is that my grandmother (ina letter) stated that my grandfather's mother's maiden name was Mattie Ford. Now on the 1910 census my grandfather (age 9 or 10)can be found living with the family of George Dyess as his grandson "Henry White" with them is also a George and Mattie Roberts living there (it gives their relationship to George Dyess as in-laws).In another census for Bell co. taken a few weeks later they all can be found (apparently they all moved together) in two different households next to each other. There my grandfather is living with George and Mattie Roberts and it gives his relationship to George Roberts as stepson. Are you confused yet?So as you can see I don't know how it all fits together.I do know that my grandfather went by the name "Henry Roberts" but I remember him once saying that he wondered what his last name really was.So that's where I stand and am running into that brick wall" at every turn. Thanks for you interest and if any of this makes any sense to you let me know. Thanks again.Happy Hunting!Lyn
