I found the following in the Cass County, GA census of 1850, line 41, sheet page 112, #189 in visitation:
Perley Ford, born 1794 in Virginia, age 56,profession--LABORER (not doctor as some say)
Susan, born 1813 in South Carolina, age 37
Jesse Stanley, born 1828 in Mississippi, age 22, profession--farmer
John, born 1830 in Georgia, age 20, profession--farmer
George, born 1834 in Georgia, age 16
Thomas, born 1838 in Georgia, age 12
David Daly, born 1841 in Georgia, age 9
William, born 1843 in Georgia, age 7
enumerated with the Fords was William H. Faras, born 1834 in Mississippi, age 16
Chester Pearce, born 1843 in Georgia, age 7
Henry C. Pearce, born 1845 in Georgia, age 5
Can you possibly clear up some confusion?According to the following paragraph which I received recently, Susannah died in March of 1827, yet the census shows that she had children being born after that date right on up until the 1840's---my great-grandfather David Daly Ford was born in 1841.
This is what I know about Susannah Gallman:
Susannah Catharine was born on July 10, 1803.A marriage bond was made on September 17, 1825 for Susannah and Perley Ford. They were married in Lawrence County, Mississippi. Susannah was age 22; Perley age 36.
Susannah and Perley's first child, Joseph Ford, was born June 25, 1826, and died March 28, 1827, in Lawrence County, Mississippi.Susannah is believed to be buried in an unmarked grave in the Quercus Grove cemetery, Posey Township, Switzerland County, Indiana. This is the same cemetery in which Erastus Ford and his wife are buried, which was near theirfarm.
