My Great Great Grandfather was Samuel Smith Ford, he lived in Fairmount, Maryland near Crisfield on the Eastern Shore, I can only tell you what my family has told me. I have only just started my family tree and I believe I have linked to the Mayflower. I only need a Marriage document of somekind. Annie Beauchamp was my great great grandmother, she married Samuel Smith Ford. If I could get her parents name hopefully from her marriage records, it may lead our family to Edmund Sr. or Edmund Jr., or Isaac Beauchamp, they are direct decsendants of John Beauchamp who was one of the investors from London who financed the Mayflower trip here. His Son Edmund settled in Somerset County, Md. which there is a ton of History on the Genealogy Web sights. If you are interested in what I've said so far, there is alot more.Annie Beauchamp married Samuel Smith Ford and they had 7 children, Isaac(1st son) was my Great Grandfather and he was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates this is written in the Crisfield Times. He lived in Fairmount and was married to Hattie Cox. There is much more. But I'll wait to see if this is a relation of yours?
I hope I haven't rambled on too much. I have from the obits the other siblings who survived Isaac Thomas Ford one was a Rev. their may be something more written in Church records. Also Edumund Beauchamp was the first Clerk of Court of Maryland and was appointed by Lord Calvert the first Governor,by King George of England I believe, I'll have to look in my History Book for that one. There is also Pirates of the Eastern Shore. I know alot of religion was popular in Maryland and so was the Oyster Trade back in those days. At least that was something Isaac was consulted on by the state. Edmund Beauchamp's father John stayed in London, 2 more Tons of stories just look in the Chat room in the Genealogy, "Family Tree" under Beauchamp. Maybe we can chat more. Chow "Debbie"
