Dear Edna,

I have been researching Forcums for over 20 years now (off and on), and the simple answer to your question is--No, we don't know how we got here. It is fact that Forcum's had settled in Kent Co., DE by the first half of the 1700's...and I have a lead on a Forcum that may have been in MD by 1730--but before that is speculation.

There is a story, unsupported by research or fact, that the Forcums were early French Huguenots from western France who fled to southern Germany in the mid-to-late 1600, and from there made their way to the port of Philadelphia and on to the DE-MD area. I must emphasis that this is a story only and not based upon ANY FACT.

Keep in touch.
