I have never seen any prof that George E. Forbis (in NC. Forbush) that George was related to William and Margaret Forbis. William has been listed as b. 1679. this is not true. He and Margaret and so William Jr. came to America in 1679.
I found them on a ships list. the name on the ships list was Forbis. William d. in 1763, in his will his George Forbis was to be raised by William Jr. and then to learn a trade. this means that his George was under age. George E. Forbis d. in 1768.
George E. Forbis early days in this country is a mystery.
I find him and his wife Olif (Olif in NC. Olive in Md.) in a law suite in Md. in 1746 in preparation going to Yadkin NC. that part of Va later became West Va.
George and Olif were in Chester County Pa. in 1730. It seems that Morgan Bryan Sr. and George Forbis Sr. were friend. George's daughter Mary married Morgan Bryan II about 1749. Son James Forbis Sr. m. Hannah Turner. There son James Jr. m. Phoebe Bryan(Sister to Daniel Boone wife Rachel) daughter of Joseph Bryan a son of Morgan Sr. Robert Forbis son of George Sr. m. Mary Curtiss daughter of Mary Bryan, daughter of Morgan and Martha Strode Bryan Sr. This is my line. Many folks have George m. Mary Bryan. This is wrong. She m. Thomas Curtis. Both died young (in early 20's)Mary died in 1742 and willed her daughter to be raised by her parents, This explains the Mary Forbis in Morgan Bryan Sr. will. She is my 4th Great-Grandmother.
George and Olif Forbis had a daughter Elizabeth Forbis who m. first Issac Ferree, and second James Jones. They also had son John Forbis and George E. Forbis II.
Elizabeth Forbis Ferree Jones stayed in NC. Mary, John. Robert, James and George Jr. went to Ky. with there in-laws Bryan and In-laws by marriage the Boone's.
Little has been written about this family but, we were early settles of this country. George and family were the
first white settlers west of the Yadkin River in NC. Early settlers in Ky. and Mo.
