Warren:
Clarissa Forbush was the daughter of Mary Sephronia Gaylord Forbush and Sanford Forbush
who emigrated to Utah in 1852. Sanford's parents, Rufus and Polly Forbush had already settled in the Union Fort area in Salt Lake city. Mary Sephronia and Sanford were married
in Hancock Illinois in 1844, and had four children when they left for Utah in June of 1852, arriving in Salt Lake in September 1852. Mary had another baby, Elijah, who died at six weeks. Then Clarissa was born in
1854 followed by 7 more children, the last in
1868. Source; Pioneer Women of Faith and
Fortitude, the Family History Library, Salt Lake City, Utah. You might try the book
The Forbushes of Idaho, self -published by
Harold Sanford Forbush in 1985. Library call # is929.273F747h also at the Family History Library. Good Luck!
