I am trying to trace the Scottish branch of my family. I know that I am a direct descendant of a John Forbes of Skeleton, Aberdeenshire, who went to Portugal in the 1730's, served in the Portuguese army where he attained the rank of General. His father was George Forbes and his mother was a Gordon, fnu. Would you have any information for me on this branch? Many thanks.
