I have also been searching for parents of Elias and Nancy. Elias D. Forbes was born abt. 1820 in Ohio. I believe his father was John, who also lived in Hamilton Twp., Jackson Co., Ind. and was from Ohio. He married Nancy in Jackson Co., IN on August 15, 1846. (I have a copy of the certificate)He died in 1873 in Warren Co. IL. Nancy was born about 1822 in Brown Co., IN and died in 1876 in Warren Co., IL.

Elias was on the 1850 census in Jackson Co., IN. and on the 1860 census in Warren Co., IL. He came to Warren Co. by covered wagon from Vincennes, IN. (my dad remembers his grandfather telling this) In the 1850 Jackson Co., IN census, he was listed as 28, born in Ohio, and was a farmer. His wife, Nancy, was listed as 25 and born in Ind. They had two children listed, John, 7 mos. and William T., age 2, both born in Ind. There was another son, James C., Born after the census.

Both Elias and Nancy are buried in the Monmouth Cemetery, Monmouth, Warren Co., IL.

Their son, William Thomas, is my great grandfather. He was born in Seymour,Jackson Co., Indiana. He was a Union soldier, I have his Civil War discharge. He was a mailcarrier for many years around Cameron Ill. He married Rebecca Catherine Fox and they had eight children. They lived in Cameron, Warren Co., IL. He is buried in the Monmouth Cemetery, Monmouth, Warren Co., IL.

If you want to share more info, please email me. I would be very interested in where you fit in this family.
