Hi Susan,

I wonder if you have looked for the name Francis Forbes in your search. I ask this because my g.g.grandfather was Francis Forbes III born Aberdeen, Scotland. Some of his descenants have become Frank Forbes in the recent years.

My above Francis had a brother named John Forbes (b1827) whom I cannot trace. He could very well have come to the US and likely named a son Francis or Frank. Therefore your message interest me very much.

Two of Francis' sons did come to the US - David came about 1882 to ND and William, my g.grandfather came to Louisiana in 1886. William named a son Francis but was called Frank who in turn named his son Frank.

Would be happy to discuss this further. My email is mhelens at bellsouth.net.

Good luck,
Helen Miller
