Phil, I have some info on Sidney Forbes and Laura Robinson. Sidney was the son of William Forbes, Sr., and Margaret Warnock. He was born 8 Feb 1802 in Pendleton Dist., S.C. He died between 1870/1880, probably in Dawson Co., Ga. Laura Robinson, daughter of Ephraim Grover Robinson, Sr., and Mary Elizabeth Forbes, was born 23 May 1805 in Pendleton Dist., S.C. She died after 1880, probably in Dawson Co., Ga. Sidney had Laura had 8 children that I know of. Sidney and Laura were married 13 Jun 1822 in Pendleton Dist. Sidney moved to Hall Co., Ga., prior to 1830. He won a lot of land in the 1832 GA Land Lottery & a lot of land in the 1832 GA Gold Lottery.
Their son, Ephraim Grover Robinson Forbes, was born about 1843 in Lumpkin Co., Ga. He married Frances J. Blalock 5 Jan 1868 in Dawson Co., Ga. Frances was born abt 1843 in Ga. Ephraim enlisted as a private in Co. A, 11th GA Infantry on 3 Jul 1861 and served until the surrender at Appomattox Court House, VA. His unit was surrendered 9 Apr 1865. I have only four known children for Ephraim Grover Robinson Forbes & Frances Blalock, Carrie Forbes, Alice Forbes, Ida Forbes and Ediom Forbes.
Would be happy to correspond further. I descended through Sidney's older brother, William Wilson Forbes, Jr., my 2nd great-grandfather, who moved to Marion Co., Miss. by 1835.
