I work at Fyvie Castle, Aberdeenshire, now owned by The National Trust for Scotland. It was once owned by the Forbes-Leith, the two families (kinsmen) combining the names.

Sir John de Forbes (c1406) had three sons:

(1)Sir William Forbes of Pitsligo formed the family of Leith Hall.

(2)Sir Alexander Forbes formed the Blackford line.

(3)Sir John Forbes of Tolquhoun - his line married into Alexander's line.

If you need anymore help, let me know.
