I am looking for others doing research on Eli Forbis, ca. 1800-1866. His first wife was Nancy Hall. Their children were Elizabeth Burnsides, James H. Forbis, Ann Forbis, Rebecca Matilda Sheppard, Hugh Smiley, Catharine Andrew(s), Eli, Jr. I am descended from his second wife, Rebecca Hackett Webb and their daughter Nancy. Eli's parents were Hugh Forbus and Elizabeth Gorrell.
