I hope things are better for you.
My cousins are not much interested, so I have not been able to confirm this, but as far as I can tell William Footman was the brother of my great-grandfather Arthur Edwin Footman. Arthur Edwin had a ranch in Raymond, but moved to Madera with his small children after the deathof his first wife, in approximately 1899.
I would love to hear about anything youhave on the Footman Family. The informtion I have, based on family stories and some reseach, is that Arthur, William and another brother came to the US in the early 1880s through Canada and New York. They were in variousbusinesses in Madera Co.
They camefrom Worcestershire, Engand, apparently from the town of Kidderminster. In about 1921, their mother, Angelina Footman,came over and died a fewyears later. Their sisters also visted Madera, but returned to England.
I have no idea why no-one of Arthur Edwin's descendents sems to know anything about his brothers, and no family pictures that I have seen include them.
