hello,
I am continually researching this potential side of my family, and have thus far gathered a lot of data on Priscilla Foote's family with her husband James A Porter. Priscilla was the great granddaughter of Capt. Zachariah Foote thus descended from Pasco Foote. James is descended from the Nova Scotia/MA Porters who came from the John & Mary Endicott Porter line of Dorset, England.
Priscilla and James' children included: son George, daughter Eudora M. (Porter) who married Albert F. Benson, son Henry (Harry) L. E. Porter who married Ella M Milbury, son William Orville Porter who married Emma Doane, son Alfred E. Porter who married Julia E Estabrook/Clayton (I have records for both surnames), daughter Mary E. Porter, son Jacob Nathaniel Porter who married Annie L. (surname unknown), son Benjamin Clayton Porter who married Margaret Catherine Cameron, and daughter Henrietta Porter only listed in one record. The 1900 US Census records indicate they had 9 children, though only 8 were living.
If any of these people are hits in your tree, please contact me as I am trying to find out more about Henry/his children in particular but would generally like to know more about any of the people listed in hopes to track down living relatives. I have gathered a good bit of info thus far, so would gladly share it for new leads. Not being in Nova Scotia hampers additional research on Henry at the moment since the rest of it sits in Yarmouth repository stacks and binders. :) I'm trying to do as much before I make a trip up as possible.
I am also interested in making contact with the following people who are also Zachariah descendants mentioned in an article by Harriet Rockwell: Terri Foote, Mary Ann Mitchell, Janet Rice, and Judy Phillips.
