My husband`s Great Grandparents came to America through Ellis Island in 1892 through the port of LeHarve, France.
They lived in Alsace Lorraine and are listed as Jean and Marie Fousse; later known as John and Mary. Their language and culture were German. They came to Monroe County, New York because Mary`s relatives lived there, Esse family.
There are many Families of Foose, Foos, but we are the only Fousse in the area. Acording to John Fousse`s Death Certificate his parents were John Fousse and Margaret Geldhefer.
