After I read your query, I made an
unsuccessful effort to identify this
family. I have about 12 individuals
named Oscar Fontenot in my database.
A big drawback to finding some of
these families on is that the 1890
census was destroyed by fire.
You and I have corresponded many times.
As you already know, I am a paid researcher.
Before he died, Rev. Donald J. Hébert gave
me written permission to do "look-ups" in
all his publications.
It just occurred to me I could do "look-ups"
in Southwest Louisiana Records. I own the books
beginning with 1750 and ending with 1910.
Claitor's publishing in Baton Rouge has continued
to publish SWLR. Claitor's also has copies of the
original Fontenot Family Book. I mention this because
there are Fontenot's who still want a cc of the book.
