William Fondren/Elizabeth Yancey - Christopher Foust

Roadblock on parentage of William Fondren b. 1812 Tn, died after 1880. Married Elizabeth Yancey b. 1816 Tn.

1850 Census Lawrence Co. TN - Dist 3- Wm Fondren & family is shown living next door to Christopher Foust and family, Judy Fondren Foust and also her mother, Sarah Cole Fondren - 85.

1860 Census Lawrence Co. Tn- Dist 3 - Wm Fondren & family again living next door to Christoper Foust and family. Feel there must be a family connection?

I understand that Richard and Sarah Cole Fondren had from 6 to 8 children, but have never seen their names listed. It would be a stretch for them to be the parents of Wm Fondren since Sarah would have been 46 to 49 at the time of his birth; but not impossible. Could they have been his parents?

My gggrandmother Lucy Fondren who married Robert(Bob) Edmondson was the daughter of Wm and Elizabeth Fondren. Any clues to William's parentage would be appreciated. DerylPhillips dphillips@texoma.net
