Stephen S. Fonda b:1833 in ????,NY (probably born in Caughnawaga), d:1921 in Omaha,Nebraska. He was married to Margaretta Fox b:May 8,1849 in Palatine,NY. The term Palatine and Stone Arabia are used pretty interchangably. There are Fox's listed on the original Stone Arabia Patent of 1723 so she is probably descended from the original German Palatine settlers. The children that I have so far are Lydia Sammons Fonda and Margretta Fox Fonda b:April 6,1885. Stephen S. Fonda is the son of Adam Douw Fonda and Lydia Sammons. I have a picture of her (Lydia) in the computer. That's all I have right now. Douw Adam b:Dec 30, 1774 in Schenectady is the father of Adam Douw b:Oct 26, 1736. Adam and his brother Jelles were both officers in the Tryon County Militia and were key players in the battles of the Mohawk Valley. Another brother, John was a private under Col Fisher. I have pictures of John's tavern and many of their grave markers. I am still ironing out mistakes and adding more information all the time. I visit the archives in Fonda regularly if there is more info you need.
