Yes, Margaret Jane Lewelling was the daughter of Thomas & Temprance (Chandler) Lewelling. Her first husband was James R. Sweeney, and they had at least one son, George E., who died as an infant in 1850. He, along with his father who died in 1853, are buried in the Lewelling Family cemetery in Columbus Twp, Bartholomew County, Indiana. Buried there as well are Margarets parents and her brother, Levi who died in 1844 and 2 other unknown children. These 7 graves were recovered from the farm field they had become over the last 60 years just this past August (2001) by a subdivision developer.
Margaret married Thomas Followell in Bartholomew County in 1854. When her father died in 1860, he willed her land up front on the condition that she took care of her mother for the rest of her life.
