I think he is probably related to my "John" Johannis Bartle Volk/Folk of New York. He lived in Queens, New York & was married to Hellen "Lena" Roosa/Roose/Rose/Rooza. I've been trying to get more information on these people too. I do have:

"Lena" Roosa was the daughter of Jan John Gysbertse Rose Roosa/Roos born abt 28 may 1699 Marbletown, Ulster County, NY died aft 1759 marbletown, Ulster County, NY & Eva Klaarwater born abt 2 Dec 1716 ulster County, NY. Roosa family also big in the Reformed Dutch Church.

Not sure yet how Josiah Bartle fits thinking a grandchild of john or other relative. I feel that John B's mother might have been a Bartle that name is rapid in the area they originated. If anyone finds anything new on these people I'd love the information/help. We may be related. I do have more info so feel free to contact me.
