James Fogo 1727 - 1820, Writer to the Signet in Edinburgh, married Elizabeth Jamieson 1755 - 1834 in 1777 in Edinburgh. Children include Helen (m. Capt. Benjamin Street and moved to Canada), Thomas MacMillan Fogo (Ordnance Medical Dept), James Fogo (Royal Artillery), William Fogo (Honorable East India Company), Elizabeth (m. Richard Gillespie), Margaret (d. unmarried), Agnes (m. James Scott), Barbara (m. Dr. Charles Edward Bernard). James had at least one sister, Agnes, (m. James Gray) and several brothers, including David and Charles, who died in the West Indies - possibly children of William Fogo of Killorn and Agnes Campbell. James was "a near relative of the Duke of Montrose" according to a biography of his grandson, William Honeyman Gillespie. Willing to trade info. Please emai me at
