Robert, I, also am a Fogleman descendant. The Fogleman name is 18th century German and the original spelling was VOGELMANN. Since my Fogleman ancestress was so very long ago, I have not researched the later lineages, but there is a Fogleman Reunion each year in Alamance County, NC and the data below will help you make contact with them. In the Marriages of Orange County North Carolina there is a marriage bond for William Fogleman and Margaret Bane [sic] taken out on 24 December 1827 with Peter Greeson as the Bondsman. The date of the marriage was not included. The Greesons were also 18th century Germans, as were so very many of the people of the area. Alamance County was erected from old Orange County in 1849, so there are two counties to research, as well as the records of Guilford County, which received some of the old Orange County when it was erected in 1771.
The FOGLEMAN NEWSLETTER is excellent and can be reached by contacting Kay Whittle, 1859 Chandler Street, Elon College, NC 27244. You should not ask for help, but ask for how to gain access to all the NEWSLETTERS.
Good luck.
Jane Smith Hill
