Thanks so much for replying - actually I think that just the reply alone was helpful!!! I went back to the Alamance genweb and discovered a link to the LDS website where you can search the 1880 census. Amazingly enough, there was Abram and he had his brother-in-law Thomas Strawn living with him - even better, living next door was one William and Margarette Fogleman and they had Hawkins Strawn, another of Abram's brothers-in-law, living with them. I have to assume that William and Abram are related. Also, William has a Daniel R. (maybe for Ruff) living with him, as well as two Fogleman grandchildren (I assume they are Daniel's kids, no wife is listed). So, I at least have a new lead to pursue. Again, a thousand thanks!!!!!
