That means that she was the daughter of the Jonathan Fogg who was the son of the John Fogg who was the son of the Jonathon Fogg who was the son of the John Fogg who was the son of the Daniel Fogg who was the son of the Samuel Fogg of the title of the book.

Jonathan was in the Aroostook War and was a "Drum Major," Co.C, 1st Bn., Art. He enlisted Apr.20,l8l6 for 3 years and 15 days as a substitute for Benjamin Mom's (English name) and promoted to drummer Dec.l,l8l6; reduced from Musician
Aug.31,l8l7; deserted Sept.l8l7; deserted again Aug.1818. (Desertion was common)
He was a travelling shoemaker, making and remaking shoes while his wife did spinning for people. They lived in Burlington, Me. for many years. In 1850 Rachel and Joseph lived with Thomas (71) and Eliza Page (67) (the great-grandparents of Stewart Lord, Town Clerk of Burlington,Me.) and Sophronia lived with the Tristam Hurd family in Burlington.

I'll refer you to the book for earlier generations. Whitten concentrates on people bearing the Fogg name, so she doesn't report on Susan's children beyond the first two.
