For those of you that are a little slow in learning what is on your computer - I discovered several years ago that there was a Notepad file called aqueduct.txt on my computer. It tracked all of my moves whenever I was in FTM. So during all of that time, I left the file there, but spent untold hours deleting all of the actions on the file except for the last two months - just in case my computer repairman needed it - at his suggestion!
Recently I was advised by a fellow user that version 9 had this aqueduct beta test on it, but it was supposed to be removed before the program was to be sold. (Check out snopes for verification) It obviously had never been removed from mine.
I deleted that file, and also one called aqueduct.dll.
Luckily, I did not remove them from my Recycle bin.
I called up my FTM program and guess what? It would not come up without the aqueduct.dll file!
I moved the file back to my FTM program and it works alright now, but I wanted to warn all persons that deleting the .dll file might really mess them up.
The .txt file I did delete from my recycle bin. That was on 10/24/2009. Now guess what? A new aqueduct.txt file regenerated beginning 10/25/2009, the next time I opened my FTM program.
So now, FTM, what do I do? Keep deleting the .txt file so it can regenerate? I'm not about to delete the .dll because I still want to use my FTM program.
I am not a happy camper.
Thank you for your assistance.
