Al, thank you so much for taking the time to explain. Unfortunately, in spite of your wonderful, clear instructions, this is not it. Somehow I was able to "take a picture" of the "tree View" that shows up on screen. It is so much more attractive than the "Pedigree" chart, as it is in color. Once I managed to put it into my document (I think I inserted it into a text box) I could go ahead and edit it as I wanted. I could show only the parts of the tree view that was appropriate. After 2 1/2 books, one would think I remembered what I did. Serves me right for putting the book on the back burner. My husband died, then I needed to move, and so on. I do have an old piece of software called "Screen Shot Deluxe, version 10" and am wondering if I used that. So far, I haven't been able to get that to work either.

I dearly love Family Origins and except for this latest "senior moment", have had no problems with it. Since it isn't supported any more, I wasn't sure I would be able to receive any help at all, so am very pleased to find the message board.

Edna
