Starting with FOW 7, the links to multimedia files were exported in a GEDCOM file. Then when you imported that GEDCOM file into a new database on the same computer, the multimedia items would be displayed there.

But, if you imported the GEDCOM file to another computer, the links would soow up and a "Photo not found" error would be in the scrapbook instead of the photo. That is, unless you copied the photos to the new computer and created the same file structure for them.

If they were in "C:\Documents and settings\Owner\my documents\my photos\Genealogy photos" on the source computer, they would have to be in the same place on the target computer. Mooving from Windows 9x to Windosw XP made it a bit confusing for a while.

FOW Version 9 and 10 and all RootsMagic vesrsions have a global search and replace so that you can put the photos in any folder, then globally replace the path to them.

SO, you need to COPY the photos, or multimedia files, and their folders, to a CD or something so they can be copied enmasse to the new computer.

A GEDCOM file is easy to create, IF the database is not corrupted.
Just go to the File menu, choose export GEDCOM file, or GEDCOM export, whatever it is with your program, choose what items to export, usually all of them, and then choose GENERAL or something like that. the others are for special LDS operations.
