Hello,
I am decended from a Francis Floyd who sold his land in Isle of Wight Co. Va in 1780 and moved to Rowan Co. NC, He died in 1816 in Rowan Co, I do not know his birth date. One family member in NC. says she corresponded with a man who wrote a book on the Harris Family with ties to the Floyd family. She told me that mr.Harris wrote that our Francis was born in 1731. I haven't wrote to Mr. Harris concerning the book. There are also Francis Floyd's in Edgecomb Co. NC with ties to the Floyd's of IOW Co. Va. He may be the father of my Francis. So far I don't know. My ggggg-grandfather Francis Floyd had one son John that I know of. and 5 or 6 daughters some of the daughter names are Elizabethe who married William Briggs and migrated to Brown Co. Ill. in the 1830, Margaret who married Fredrick Knup and settled in Marshall Co. Ky. Also daughter Nancy, Mary and Mimeth.
