Judith, I have a Morris Floyd who was my ggggrandfather. There is a cencus report in Cooper county, MO It showes Morris living with his son Nicholas in Cooper county. I have also seen a cemetary list showing that they were buried there .I don't remeber the name of the cemetary.
Morris Floyd is a bit of a mystery. There are Morris Floyd uncles and nephews There are fathers and sons with the same name. I believe they are all in the same family. It is a little confussing.
My Greatgrandfather James Washington Floyd was Nicholas Floyd's son. James Floyd was my grandfather Philip Joseph floyd's father. Philip Floyd was his 10th child. His mother, Sarah Marguerite Parrish Floyd, died 3 months after he was born. She died of consumption. He was raised mostly by his sister"Zoe" Rhoda Zerelda Floyd Laws. Because his father was older and his mother had died, most of our family history was lost. Thanks to my Sister Kathryn and the genealogy web sites we have learned many interesting things about the people of our family.
