Thanks for the help. I am certain that this Jabez Floyd was born in 1854 and stayed in Monroe Co. I also found him and know siblings in the 1860 census under a William (born ~1828) and Sarah Floyd. Inspection of the 1850 Monroe County marriage records show a William W. Floyd and a Sarah Mabry marrying. I don't know where William W. came from though. It could be that your Jabez was William W.'s father or uncle or something. As I am sure you are aware, people back then often repeated family names. There certainly would be time to fit the generations in.
