I can offer a bit of very indirect information. The Mormon church library has a book, CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN OF WILLIAM AND ABEDIAH DAVIS FLOYD, BY Anna Margaret Cartlidge, 1966, in which it is stated that Abediah was a lineal descendant of Opechancanough, brother to Powatan. Her parents are said to be Princess Nichetti who married Nathaniell Davis of Wales. From this couple came the "original" John Floyd who produced the noted VA family of Indian fighters, governors, generals, etc. In THE FLOYD FAMILY OF VA, NC, SC AND GA, Andrea and White make a fair case that this is the origin of the the Horry Floyds. I subscribe to this same theory because Floyds have been in this country so long - since about 1619 into the Jamestown area. I think natural migration would have taken them southward into the Carolinas. Proof is slow coming, but my Horry/Marion ancestors always said we came from VA.
