My wife (and daughters) are reportedly direct decendants of William Floyd. My task now is to prove it. My wife's great grandmother was Ottie May (Floyd) Stephens. Her father was William O. Floyd, and his father was...I think... David Floyd, a slave owner around the time of the civil war. I can't seem to get any farther than that. Please help. If I can make the final links and prove them, my daughter can get a scholarship for being a descendant of a Signer of the Declaration of Independance.
